The Game Rules
|
1.
2. Funds
Each participant is allotted a theoretical sum of $100,000
at the beginning of each month. This amount represents the
starting funds the participant uses to "buy" stocks during the game period.
At the end of each month all portfolio values including are reset
to $100,000 "cash" and all stock or option holdings are
eliminated.
3. Trading
(i) Trading is carried out by entering buy
and sell orders onto the online trading form
found after logging in on the TRADER LEGENDS web site at:
http://www.traderlegends.com
(ii) Quotes on the TRADER LEGENDS web site are provided
on up to a 20 minute delay basis, however, trades will be
recorded as executed as close as possible to the actual prevailing price at the time the order is placed - usually within 5 minutes. Orders placed within 15 minutes of the close of trading may be executed anytime up to the close or at the closing
price. Orders placed during non-trading hours will be
recorded as executed at the prevailing price within 20
minutes of the open of trading at the next trading session.
(iii) Only market orders are accepted, no limit or stop orders are permitted. Margin trading or short selling is also not allowable in this version of the game.
(iv) Only shares with a value of $1.00 or above may be purchased - if shares in the portfolio fall below $1.00 per share, they may be sold at any price.
(v) The minimum allowable value of any trade is $5,000.
(vi) Participants may trade a maximum of 5% of the Average Daily Volume ("ADV") in any given hour and a total of 15% of ADV volume in any given day.
Average Daily Trading Volume is displayed with share price quotes on the TRADER LEGENDS site.
An order placed outside the indicated parameters may be reversed by the Game Coordinator.
(vii) You cannot cancel orders once they have been placed.
(viii) Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) may only be ordered and traded once they are listed on the exchange, and like other trades may be subject to up to 20 minute delays between order and execution.
4. Reporting of Results
The results of the top twenty Contestants with be displayed
on the site and updated each day, including portfolio
value and portfolio growth. Contestants can also view
a record of their own current portfolio value, transaction
history and ranking within the contest, updated each day.
5. Brokerage
All buying and selling transactions are subject to a
realistic brokerage commission, which will be automatically
calculated on the transaction and deducted from the
portfolio value.
All share purchase and sale transactions will incur a virtual brokerage commission of $15.
6. Permitted Securities
Participants may trade equities on the NYSE (New York
Stock Exchange), AMEX (American Stock Exchange), and
NASDAQ. The NYSE, AMEX, and NASDAQ are open from 9:30am/ET
to 4:00 pm/ET.
Participants may hold a maximum number of 20 individual
securities in their portfolio at any one time.
